The makers of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups have announced that the film’s trailer will be unveiled on August 8, with a grand launch event planned in Bengaluru as the gangster drama gears up for its worldwide theatrical release on August 26.
The announcement was made on social media along with a new black-and-white poster featuring Yash standing alone on a rain-soaked street at night, dressed in a long coat and hat while appearing to hold a gun. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi. While the trailer release date has been confirmed, the makers are yet to announce the launch time.
Speaking earlier about the film during San Diego Comic-Con, where he was promoting Ramayana, Yash described Toxic as a “wild” and “unapologetic” cinematic experience. He said the film combines large-scale entertainment with strong emotional depth and expressed confidence that audiences would leave theatres stunned by what they witness on screen.
In an interview with JoBlo.com, Yash said he believes Toxic will surprise viewers with its intense storytelling and emotional core. He added that while the film has a larger-than-life appeal, it is ultimately driven by powerful emotions that make the experience memorable.
The actor also spoke about filming the action sequences, saying action films have always excited him and that he enjoys watching such scenes come together during production. He praised renowned Hollywood action choreographer J. J. Perry for designing the action in Toxic, adding that the action serves the story rather than existing merely for spectacle.
Yash noted that he has long admired Perry’s work in films such as John Wick and said the team aimed to deliver world-class action while ensuring every sequence was backed by emotion. According to him, that balance has been achieved not only in Toxic but also in Ramayana.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under the banners of KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. During Comic-Con, Yash also unveiled Ramayana, in which he portrays Ravana opposite Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama.
