HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has served a legal notice on Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over what he termed “false, malicious and defamatory” allegations linking him to Globarena Technologies, whose evaluation software came under scrutiny during the inquiry into the 2019 Telangana Intermediate results.
The notice demands an unconditional public apology, withdrawal of the statements, and an assurance that such allegations will not be repeated. It contends that the Chief Minister made the allegations during a media interaction on examination irregularities and later reiterated them on social media and other public platforms without producing any evidence. According to KTR’s legal team, the statements have been widely circulated by television channels, newspapers and digital platforms, causing serious damage to his reputation.
Rejecting the allegations, the notice states that there is no judicial finding, investigation report or official record establishing that Globarena Technologies is owned or controlled by KTR or that he has any financial interest in the company. It also denies allegations that he facilitated contracts for the firm, failed to act against it, influenced CBSE contracts through political connections or was responsible for inaction that allegedly led to student suicides, describing the claims as baseless and politically motivated.
The notice further argues that the Chief Minister, as a constitutional functionary, is expected to exercise responsibility while making public statements. It describes the remarks as defamatory and beyond the scope of legitimate political criticism, alleging they were made with malicious intent to damage KTR’s reputation. The legal notice gives the Chief Minister 48 hours to comply with its demands.
