BENGALURU: Aster DM Quality Care has announced plans to invest ₹1,315 crore to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Karnataka, expanding its network of hospitals and advanced medical services across the state.
The healthcare group currently operates four hospitals in Karnataka with a combined capacity of 1,329 operational beds.
As part of its expansion plans, Aster is developing a 550-bed hospital at Yeshwantpur, a 460-bed facility at Sarjapur and a 350-bed expansion at Aster CMI Hospital. The projects are expected to enhance access to advanced tertiary and quaternary healthcare services in Bengaluru.
The announcement followed a meeting between Aster DM Quality Care Founder and Executive Chairman Dr. Azad Moopen and Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
Dr. Moopen said the planned investment reflects the company’s long-term confidence in Karnataka. He added that Aster remains committed to partnering with the state government to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, expand access to advanced medical care, promote medical education and research, and improve healthcare outcomes.
The expansion announcement comes soon after the merger of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Limited (QCIL), which was completed earlier this month.
The merger has brought four healthcare brands—Aster DM, Care Hospitals, Evercare and KIMSHEALTH—under a single group, creating a network of 39 hospitals across 28 cities with more than 10,600 beds.
