The trailer of Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming film I’m Game has finally been released after its unexpected postponement on the actor’s birthday. The nearly three-minute trailer offers a gripping look into a thriller revolving around sports betting, psychological mind games and revenge, with Dulquer portraying a gambler who believes algorithms, rather than luck, determine every outcome.
Directed by RDX filmmaker Nahas Hidhayath, the film features Dulquer as Dan John, a man obsessed with decoding patterns and probabilities. Believing every game follows a predictable algorithm, Dan finds himself trapped in a dangerous world where betting syndicates, influential businessmen and politicians are closely connected.
The trailer opens with a philosophical narration comparing human life to a game controlled by God and the Devil before shifting into an underground sports betting network. Introducing himself, Dan says, “I’m luck’s worst habit,” highlighting his reliance on strategy instead of chance.
As the story progresses, the trailer reveals that Dan’s success comes at a significant personal cost. He is shown battered, emotionally broken and caught in intense confrontations. A character refers to him as “just her patient,” suggesting the psychological struggles he endures. The revenge theme is reinforced when Dan declares, “I’m going to settle everyone,” followed by, “Whether it’s gambling or life, never give up.”
The trailer also showcases stylish action sequences, high-speed car chases and visually striking set pieces. It concludes with Mysskin’s enigmatic antagonist asking, “Are you feeling sleepy?” while Antony Varghese (Pepe) makes a brief appearance, with his role remaining undisclosed.
Kayadu Lohar plays the female lead, while the supporting cast includes Mysskin, Kathir, Vinay Forrt, Samyuktha Viswanathan and Sandy Master. The Telugu version of the trailer was launched by Jr NTR, who also praised it on social media.
Trailer Delay Explained
The trailer was initially scheduled for release on Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday but was delayed due to an unexpected technical issue, leaving fans waiting for several hours. Apologising for the delay, Dulquer said the team decided against releasing an incomplete or technically flawed version.
“I am extremely sorry about the delay. We were all eagerly waiting to share the trailer with you, but due to an unforeseen technical issue, we couldn’t release it as planned,” the actor said.
He added that the team wanted to deliver the best possible experience rather than compromise on quality.
