The makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1 have officially released the film’s much-awaited trailer following weeks of anticipation and multiple online leaks. The nearly two-minute trailer, released across social media on Thursday, July 30, at 4.15 a.m., offers audiences their first detailed glimpse of the ambitious adaptation of the Hindu epic starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash.

Ranbir Kapoor makes his first full-fledged appearance as Lord Ram, with the trailer showcasing his transformation from a courageous prince protecting his people to his marriage with Sita, played by Sai Pallavi. Along with emotional and devotional moments, the preview also features large-scale action sequences highlighting Ram’s battle against the forces of evil.
Within minutes of its release, the trailer began trending across social media platforms, drawing widespread reactions from fans. While many praised the film’s grand visuals and powerful background score, Yash’s portrayal of Ravana emerged as one of the most appreciated aspects of the trailer.
Several fans also applauded the casting, with one social media user describing Yash’s selection for the role of Ravana as the “greatest of all time.”
The film boasts a star-studded ensemble cast alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. Yash plays Ravana, while Ravie Dubey portrays Lakshman, the devoted younger brother of Lord Ram. Sunny Deol takes on the role of Lord Hanuman, one of the epic’s greatest warriors and Ram’s steadfast ally.
Veteran actor Arun Govil, who became synonymous with Lord Ram through the iconic television adaptation, returns to the Ramayana universe in the role of King Dasharath, the ruler of Ayodhya and father of Lord Ram. Lara Dutta portrays Queen Kaikeyi.
Kajal Aggarwal essays the role of Mandodari, Ravana’s queen, while Rakul Preet Singh plays Surpanakha, Ravana’s sister whose encounter with Ram and Lakshman becomes a pivotal moment in the epic. Veteran actor Anupam Kher completes the principal cast as Jatayu, the noble vulture king who sacrifices his life while attempting to rescue Sita.
